Thibaut Courtois believes Belgium team-mate Christian Benteke would be the ideal replacement for Radamel Falcao at Atletico Madrid.
Benteke had a terrific first season in the Premier League, scoring 19 goals for an Aston Villa side that staved off relegation.
His performances have seen him linked to several suitors, with fellow Premier League sides Liverpool and Arsenal thought to be keeping tabs on the striker s availability.
And with Atletico in the market for reinforcements to fill the void left by the 34-goal Falcao, Courtois believes Benteke is a perfect option.
He is a very strong centre-forward, tall, but very good technically and skilful with the ball at his feet, Courtois told AS.
I believe he would be a great signing for Atletico. During these days with the national team I am going to ask him about his future.
There is talk of various teams interested in him, and maybe he will stay in England.
Courtois previously played with Benteke in Genk s youth system and believes the DR Congo-born player will only get better, given the trajectory if his career so far.
I know him well, we played together when we were younger, he continued.
Benteke is a player who has worked a lot, he left Genk and had various loan spells which have helped him grow.
His 2011-12 season with Genk was sensational and that lead to the Premier League noticing him.
